Jaylin Lindsey Has a Great Week
Jaylin Lindsey, a member of the SKC Academy, signed a contract with the Swope Park Rangers last Friday. Lindsey is just 16-years-old and his week would only get better. The following day he debuted for the Rangers making him the youngest American player to take the field in the USL. He was born March 27, 2000. That makes me feel pretty old.
The week only got better for Lindsey who would then be called into the United States U-17 National Team. He is joining the team for the AIFF Youth Cup which will be played in India. This isn’t Lindsey’s first call-up as he has been getting the call since 2013 when he was just 13-years-old. Lindsey will be in India and not available for the next Swope game against the Roughnecks on Saturday. We’ll leave you with some vitals courtesy of SportingKC.com:

Erik Palmer-Brown Wins Title
EPB, who was loaned to FC Porto B earlier this year, won a Championship with the team this week. Porto would defeat Benfica B by a score of 3-1. Since Palmer-Brown joined the team the team went 6-2-2. This is the first reserve team to win the Spanish Segunda Divison title since the 1983-84 season.
Highlights from Sporting KC, the Rangers and FCKC
If you aren’t a gluten for punishment, you probably missed all these recent losses the Kansas City soccer teams are dealing with. Well I don’t want you to miss out on the pain that the rest of us are feeling. Here are the highlights from the SKC games with Houston and Colorado, the Swope Park Rangers against St Louis and FC Kansas City with the Houston Dash.
Javier “Chicharito” Hernandez Talks MLS
Last year Chicharito was heavily linked to Orlando City for an obscene about of money. The money would have made Chicharito the highest paid player in MLS (if the $10 million per season figure is to be believed) and would have put him on the same team as Kaka, who is already basically tied with Sebastian Giovinco for the highest paid player. Chicharito didn’t come to the US, but he thinks highly of it’s top flight league.
“I think in the future, it’s going to be one of the best leagues in the world, definitely,” he told Bayer Leverkusen’s website. “The country, the people, the culture, the sports, they have everything to achieve that.”
